Since March 2001, I have been dividing my time between "real life" -- in which I am a writer/journalist and the author of two books -- and the Xena: Warrior Princess fandom, in which I am a fan fiction writer, a staff writer for the Shipper Virtual Seasons, a digital artist, a contributor to the online journal Whoosh!, and a moderator at Xena Online Community.
I am passionate about Xena, the show and the character, and about the Xena/Ares "'ship." I am passionate about art and beauty, books and ideas. I am passionate about my friends and my work; and, last but not least, about freedom and justice.
I believe in treating people as individuals first, regardless of their race, ethnicity, gender, sexuality, religion, or any other group membership.
I believe that, with very few exceptions (such as those who preach hate or violence), one should try to look at both or all sides to a story or an argument.
I believe that honest and intelligent people can strongly disagree and still treat each other and each other's beliefs with respect -- whether in political discussions or in the Xena fandom.
